Playing Catch Up....

That's all I seem to do these days. Life has thrown a few curve balls in the last few weeks, and I am still reeling. Needless to say, my blogging is not the only thing that has suffered. My sewing plans have been on hold for some time now, but I am slowly easing myself back in. I have dozens of ideas roaming around in my head, but have lacked the ambition to put them into play. Sorry to be so cryptic. I will be explaining myself in the next couple of days, I promise! Suffice to say that life doesn't always go as planned. Okay. Needless to say you all have issues (good and bad) in your own lives, and don't want to listen to me complain. So, onto the good stuff!

Ansel, at Allness World, gave me the Stylish Blogger Award!

Wasn't that sweet of her? She really made my day! Ansel talks about her new life in Canada, after moving here with her family just over two years ago. I have to admire the bravery it takes to make such a drastic move. Moving across town is hard enough sometimes, but to a new COUNTRY? I just can't imagine it. In order for me to receive the award, I have to fulfill a couple of requirements. They are,

- Thank and link back to the person giving you the award.
    - Thank you Ansel! I really appreciate it! -

- Share seven things about yourself.
- Award 15 other newly discovered (by you) bloggers.
- Contact these bloggers about their award.

So. Seven things about me?

- I love to sew. (Gee, really?)
- I have four of my own children, and two stepchildren.
- I don't like winter.
- I probably have enough fabric in my stash that I need never buy fabric again in my lifetime, and still not run out.
- I have red hair
- I love double chocolate donuts!
- I don't like talking about myself. (or had you already figured that out?)

Next, I have name 15 bloggers. To be perfectly honest, that's not going to happen any time soon. Not that I don't want too, but I have to decide who to pick.  I'd love to just give the award to all of you, because you all deserve it. In fact, I think I will. Just leave your blog address in the comment section, and take your award! Congratulations!  Now you will all have to work on your acceptance speeches, and pick out a gown to wear.

I have done a little sewing this week. My daughter asked me to make her a gathered clutch, using the tutorial by Anna at Noodlehead.  Thanks Anna!

It is slightly smaller than Anna's, because I had a shorter zipper. Hillary also requested a handle, and little pockets inside.

I think she'll be happy with it, don't you? I am going to a baby shower on Saturday, so I'm working on a few things to show you in the next day or two. Happy Sewing ladies!

I'm sooo embarassed........

I feel just awful! The lovely Rachel over at sewambitious gave me the Beautiful blogger award last week,  and I haven't thanked her properly yet, or posted about it! So, thank you, thank you, thank you Rachel! You were so sweet to think of me! If any of you haven't checked out sewambitious yet, you really should do it now. Go on, I'll wait........   Isn't she great? She's only been sewing for a few months, and is doing a fantastic job!
Here is my wonderful award!

I don't know if I deserve it, but I'm soo grateful anyway! Now I have to list ten things about myself.

- I am addicted to reading crafty blogs,I follow so many that I've lost count! But even though it takes awhile, I do get around to reading them all!
- My favorite drink of all time is tea. My first cup of hot tea in the morning is pure bliss.
-I've always got sewing on my mind!
-I love finding new recipes
-I love spending time with my family
-I'm always saying I want to loose weight. But I never do anything about it!  :)
-I can't stand 'false friends'
-I have a hard time saying 'NO' to friends and family
-I love to entertain, but don't do it often enough
-my dogs are my 'babies'

Now, to pass it on to some other wonderful bloggers. This is so difficult, because there are so many great blogs, I wish I could give it to everyone!

- Amanda, at thebradybunchfamilyblog
-Carolyn at handmadebycarolyn
-Ms Santa at santasgiftshoppe
-Antmee at antmee
-Ela at lifeinmypjs

Congratulations ladies! I'll send you an email to let you know.

And of course, thanks again Rachel!

I've been honored!

Yesterday was a special day. I received two awards! I can't believe it, it was so kind of Jeannette, and Amanda, to give me the awards! So, now that I've finished my happy dance, I will now pass them on to others!

First, Jeannette at Counting Our Blessings, sent me the Sweet Blog award! According to the rules, I must post about the award, including the picture, and send a HUGE thank you to my award giver. Thank you again Jeanette!

Isn't that cute? My next step is to pass this award on to ten other sweet bloggers, and notify them of their award! These are my picks. I wish it could be more!

Amanda at the Modern Brady Bunch Family blog.
Rachel at Sew Ambitious.
Mommy at A Trio of Boys.
Camille at All About Mommies.
Adin at It's Sewtastic Mama!

My second award came from my new friend Amanda, at the modern brady bunch. It is the Versatile Blogger award. Thank you so much Amanda!

I can hardly believe I got one award, let alone two! For this award, I have to ,

Thank the person who gave me the award,

Share 7 things about myself,

and, Pass the award on to 15 bloggers who I have recently discovered and I think are fantastic!(in no particular order)

Contact the bloggers I have picked and let them know about their award!

Ok, well, I was planning on doing this in one post, but I've been at this for quite a while now, and duty calls! I'll be back to post my list later on today! But I will leave you with my first pick. I've already told her about her award, and I want her to have it.
Jeannette at Counting Our Blessings. Congratulations!
