Better late than never!

This has been quite the week. My daughter moved home for the summer from uni on Tuesday. (YEAH!!!) So the entire house is in an uproar. Furniture, luggage, boxes, you name it. EVERYWHERE! We just don't have enough space to store it all. So she has been busy sorting out for the past two days, deciding what she will and won't need before she goes back to school. When she is finished, everything that we can't store here, will be moved to her dad's place. Then yesterday, in the middle of the commotion, I received a phone call from my youngest son's teacher. Apparently he had cut himself in cooking class. My husband rushed over to pick him up, (he works just a few blocks away from the school) and brought him home to me before going to the hospital. The poor boy was so pale and shaky, I just wanted to hug him and comfort him like I did when he was little. Turns out he was cutting up green onions in class, AND SLICED OFF THE END OF HIS INDEX FINGER!!
I can't imagine how much it hurt. Of course he was trying to be macho and brush it off, but a mom knows better. Anyway, long story short, nothing can be done with it, it can't even be stitched. All they did was wrap it up tight, made sure his tetanus shot was up to date and that was it! We have to make sure it stays clean and shows no sign of infection. Otherwise, we're on our own! I honestly thought they would sew it back on, but I guess not. It basically just re-attaches itself!
I'm also behind in my postings for me-made-may. I've been dealing with a major fibro flare-up this week on top of everything else, so I've spent most of my time in my me-made-jammies! And beleive me, NOBODY wants to see that! All of the girls taking part have been posting pics of thier daily outfits on flicker. It is really impressive what these ladies have done! Please check it out. Hopefully I'll get something up there in a day or two. I also want to get back to my sewing machine! Funny how much you miss it when you just aren't able to sew! Oh well, maybe tomorrow! Happy sewing!
