My summer has been busy, sewing crafting and fun times with family. My baby granddaughter is due to be born any day now, and I couldn’t be more excited! In my next few posts I will show you some of the things I have been working on for her.
For this post I’m going to go back to June, and show you the two dresses I made my niece for her birthday.

These little dresses are so super simple to make, that they have become my go-to gift idea for the little girls in my life. I make the skirts extra full for that twirlability factor that is oh so important to little girls. The yoyo flowers on the yellow dress are sewn in place. The flower on the purple dress is actually a pin, so she can wear it on other outfits too. I usually make matching belts for these dresses, but this particular niece doesn’t like them. All in all I’m very happy with the way they turned out. Just the thing for the scorching heat we’ve had this summer.
Before I go, I have one more thing to show you. Meet Beau.

He has quickly become a big part of the family in the six weeks we have had him. I wondered how he would fit in with our two big dogs, but there have been no problems at all. In fact, Abby has adopted him. When he first arrived he was tiny, and Abby groomed him and tried to carry him around in her month. It was so heart warming to see, I just wish I had gotten pictures!
Now they are pretty much inseparable.

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!
