tea party memories

Hello out there! just a quick post this morning to send out Birthday wishes, and an invitation to a tea party!
Jeannette, over at counting our blessings, is celebrating her 25th Bday today, and has invited everyone to share their favorite tea pics and stories with her. So without further ado, here is my pic, and my story!

This is actually a small coffee set that belonged to my Nan. She received it as a gift from my Aunt nearly fifty years ago. It has the coffee pot, cream and sugar, and six cups and saucers. When I was a toddler, my Nan watched me during the day while my mum was at work. By the time I was about three, we had established a routine. Every morning at ten was Tea Time. Nanny would make the tea in the little pot, and put cookies on a fancy plate, and we would have our little tea party while watching Mr. Dressup, or Mr. Greenjeans, or whatever children's show happened to be on. These times are some of my fondest childhood memories.  A few years ago Nan gifted the set to me, and in the future I hope to have a grandchild to carry on the tradition with!
So jump on over and say Hi and Happy Birthday to Jeannette, and share your story!  Anne

  2. Just visiting from New Friend Friday at The Girl Creative. I was looking around and I'm really impressed that you can actually follow patterns. I've made several attempts but something always seems to go wrong.
