The girls over at Sew Mama Sew! have organized another give away day! It sounds like fun, so I'm joining in. I debated making something for the give away, then decided against it. I have some vintage patterns up for grabs instead. I have two patterns that I'm giving away separately. The first one is Simplicity 4298.
I'm sorry I don't know the date of the pattern. It is size 14, with a 34 inch bust. This is a cut pattern, but all the pieces are accounted for! The second pattern is Simplicity 4417, size 2.
These aren't pics of the actual patterns, but pics I found on the web. The envelops are in similar condition though.
To enter my give away, just leave me a comment, telling me your favorite sewing project, and which one,(or both)of the patterns you are interested in! (it would make me very happy if you became a follower too!) Winners will be chosen in a random draw on May 23, and winners will be posted here. I will ship internationally! Good luck everyone, and I look forward to hearing about your favorite projects!
I love making quilts, but am excited to start on patterns for clothes - it'll be nice to have something to tell me what to do. :)
ReplyDeletei'm just getting back into dressmaking after a long break - at the moment i'm making the tunic from the weekend sewing book!!
ReplyDeletegill
I am only just learning to sew but I dream of being able to make gorgeous quilts! I also want to be able to make my own clothes as well, id love to give the dress at the top a whirl.
ReplyDeletetimeaftertea@gmail.com
I would love to work on Simplicity 4298. My favourite sewing project is a dress from a vintage pattern I'm working on now- my very first attempt to make something from a vintage pattern!
ReplyDeletelooove to win that dress pattern, I was looking exactly for something like this to sew! Thanks for hosting this giveaway! sophie(at)bleuvanille<dot"com
ReplyDeleteI love that dress, it would be a winner for summer evenings with the alpaca cardigan I am knitting right now :) My favorit sewing project is a handsewn cover made of heagons for a little chair. It's made of reds and greens and makes me really happy.
ReplyDeleteWow what a great giveaway! I am really into vintage things and love the older patterns. The child's pattern is darling. I love making quilts. Thanks for participating in SMS giveaway day. And thanks for entering me!
ReplyDeleteI love making little girl dresses and skirts and I would love the first pattern. I would look so suzi homemaker in it!
ReplyDeleteI collect these suckers and love to sew from them. Those are two cute ones. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI've been on a quilting kick lately, it's a great excuse to hoard more and more new fabrics, but the end results are pretty awesome too! I just finished a lap quilt for myself, and I love cozying underneath it while watching tv.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway, I'd love the Simplicity 4298 pattern!
Love these patterns! The dresses are my favorite :)
ReplyDeleteI would love the 4298 pattern and although I love making quilts a lot, due to the lack of sewing time I mostly make little projects like skirts or bags...
ReplyDeleteI love makking clothes for my daughter, so you can guess which pattern I would choose if I won! Thanks for the great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI would be thrilled to win either one of these! I'm still worn out from our moving halfway across the country. We have only been in our new home for less than a week.
ReplyDeleteMy tip would be to make sure to use plenty of bubble wrap and mark boxes well even if you think you will be able to remember that you tucked certain things in with something else.
Blessings on your move and I hope you will love your new home!
ajoyfulnoise@live.com
Both patterns are sensational! My favourite sewing project is usually the one I've just finished. But I've made up couple of dresses from re-issued "vintage" patterns, and recently old maternity patterns of my mother's, that are my faves.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry I happened to add the moving bit to the wrong comment. That's what happens when I have more than one window open.
ReplyDeleteOoh . . . I'm loving the kids clothes pattern!
ReplyDeleteHow do I pin down a fave sewing project? I love to try so many different things. Stuffies are a pain sometimes, but they are so ultra satisfying when they are done (especially when the special little person who receives them gives em a big ole hug!)
skooksplayground[at]gmail[dot]com
I LOVE vintage patterns and the kids' pattern is the perfect size for my little one!

So far my favourite sewing project is my English paper pieced hexagon quilt. It's far from being a complete quilt top, but very relaxing to cut out some scraps and stitch them up!
ReplyDeleteI would love the dress pattern, 4298! I just recently have gotten into sewing, but my favorite project so far would be a messenger bag that I take with me everywhere :D

Any time I am working on a quilt--that is my favorite sewing project! I'd love to have that first dress pattern; I love the style from that era. And size 14? Well, sizes have morphed over the years, and I am very curious as to what size that would be in today's terms!

My Favorite sewing project was my first blouse, because it was the first outfit I make that wearable (usually the project finished so bad that I can't wear it).
ReplyDeleteI choose the baby pattern, my kid is 2 years old and I think she will look adorable with that jumper.
And I follow your blog.
Thanks for this great giveaway!
mikthasq(at)gmail(dot)com
That dress looks just like what my grandmother wore in the 50's - she made all her own clothes, so I'd bet that she might have made it from that pattern. I'd love to be able to make my own and show up at her house to surprise her!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sewing project was the little quilt I mostly made when I was 13 - my grandmother helped me finish it, and I still treasure it!
michaelacking(at)gmail(dot)com
I love making art dolls, that is my favorite sewing project! I would choose the top pattern - the woman's dresses! I love those ones!
ReplyDeleteI am working on pajamas for my boys. I love the kids pattern.
ReplyDeleteThe kids pattern! I'm just now starting to sew for my kids.

ReplyDeleteI've followed you on google reader.
Thanks for the chance to win.
That dress pattern is divine. Of course, I'm currently pregnant and will probably breastfeed for the next year or so and won't be able to wear such a beautiful dress, but I love it anyway. So elegant! My favourite sewing project is anything that is useful. I can't put that much time and energy into something that I haven't got a specific purpose for. I guess that why I haven't yet done any quilting, though I would really like to!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite project is a reversible sundress for my daughter. Love those patterns!
